The Power of a Tiger

I've recently been evaluating different tools for getting myself better organized; more on that later. This started from research into looking for a better way to manage my websites, but quickly turned in to a in depth search of forums, websites like www.MacUpdate.com and www.versiontracker.com, and to the software companies those leads lead me.

After a couple of days of putting demos through their paces, I couldn't ignore all the references to Mac OS 10.4 or Tiger. Many of the demos could do things in Tiger that they couldn't in Panther.
So, what could I do? If I was going to get the most out of the investment in to new software, I needed to start with my OS. It took about an hour to back up my user folder and Library folder and a little more than an hour to install; all with the ease one would expect on a Mac.
Now I have all the cool new features like Automator, Spotlight Searching, updates for Mail & Safari, improved RTF with lists and tables, PDFkit, and Widgets. I writing this very post in a WordPress Widget. Not sure if this Widget will replace the need for Ecto, the blogging software that starting this, but Widgets are fun.

I'm looking forward to learning the differences with Panther, and at least both work and home with be on the same OS.
